her experience in the global market and knowledge
of the international arts, Kira Alexis Krümm
has qualities that far exceed industry standards.
Ms. Krümm’s passion for travel and
international design has nurtured her creativity
and exposed her to some of the most interesting
cultures in the world. She has lived in London
and Florence and traveled extensively throughout
Europe, the Americas, Asia, the Mediterranean,
and the Caribbean. Ms. Krümm’s travels
continue to enhance her unique and creative perspective,
as well as broaden her professional experiences,
enabling her to create unparalleled environments
that her clients call home.
Ms. Krümm established a strong reputation
for excellence in design in the early 90’s
while owning her Interior Design Firm in Virginia
Beach, Virginia, where she concentrated on high-end
residential and commercial design. During that
time, she was recognized with awards for designing
some of the city’s most popular and successful
restaurants. She later relocated to Naples, Florida,
in 2000, where she reopened her firm and now
resides in the International Design Center, Southwest
Florida's ultimate resource for design professionals
and consumers. As the recipient of some of the
industry’s top honors for excellence in
design, Krümm’s work continues to impress
and evolve while she expands into the global marketplace.
Kira Krümm’s award winning work has been featured
in several nationally sold, hard bound books such as Florida
Design’s Best of Florida Design 2006 and Florida
Interiors in 2007. She is a featured designer in the Spectacular
Homes of Southwest America book, which is sold in major
national bookstores such as Barnes & Noble. Her design projects
have been published nationally in such publications as Luxury
Homes, Florida Design, GulfShore Life, Home & Design, N
Magazine, HomeBuyer Magazine, Naples Illustrated, Naples Design,
Grandeur, Florida Designer’s Review and Florida International.
In 2006, she was asked to share her expertise and knowledge
of the global market and design industry by contributing her
own column called “INSIDE DESIGN” in Home &
Design magazine, one of Southwest Florida’s leading design
publication. In these articles, Krümm explains the intricacies
of the interior design process. She also documented her international
travels for several feature stories taking her audience behind
the scenes to such events as the High Point International Furniture
Market and Furniture China. Ms. Krümm continues to
share her knowledge of the industry through design seminars
at the International Design Center.
Ms.Krümm’s career has developed on a global scale
through her experience and commitment to international design
and the influence it has on today’s culture. The world
market is a strong focus for Krümm’s future; Krümm
is in the process of creating her own brand of home products
featured in the Kira Krümm Kollection on display in the
International Design Center, Estero, Florida.
Ms. Krümm’s work was televised on HGTV’s Ultimate
Bedrooms for Romance, published in Home Ideas Magazine,
China’s biggest international design magazine, and will
be featured in the book, Modern Interior Design, The American
Collection, which will be published in China in 2009. She
acted as the contributing editor of the hard bound book, where
she was charge of selecting 25 top designers to showcase their
unique and different styles of modern American design.
Ms. Krümm has been named in Florida International Magazines’
top Florida designers, with her most recent project selected
as one of eight designers’ featured in their Annual Home
& Design issue August 2008.
Ms. Krümm was one of eight prominent designers selected
to participate in the 2008 Designer Showcase currently on display
at the International Design Center. Inspired by the international
city of Shanghai, Krümm named the master suite “The
Shanghai Room” which exhibits luxury home products from
her own collection.
Ms. Krümm is dedicated to the Arts and is involved in many
national and international art and trade organizations. Ms.
Krümm was recently appointed to the Marco Island City Arts
Advisory Committee. She is the former Vice President and Visual
Arts chairman for the Marco Island Foundation for the Arts and
acted as the Chairman of the Selection Committee for Art Quest,
the first public sculpture exhibition on Marco Island. She is
a member of the Marco Island Chamber of Commerce, the United
Arts Council, the Collier Building Industry Association (CBIA)
and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Ms. Krümm
is certified by the National Council for Interior Design Qualification
(NCIDQ). She is a member of the American Society of Interior
Designers (ASID), the International Interior Design Association
(IIDA), the International Furnishings and Design Association
(IFDA), and is an Associate Member of the American Institute
of Architects (AIA).
Ms. Krümm has dedicated her life to design. Receiving many
prestigious awards as a young art student, she attended The
Governor’s Magnet School for the Arts at Old Dominion
University in Norfolk, Virginia, from 1984 through 1988. She
also attended Rhode Island School of Design for a special fine
art gifted program in 1987. She received her Bachelor of Fine
Arts Degree with an Interior Design major from Virginia Commonwealth
University in Richmond, Virginia. While studying art and design
at VCU, she presided as the Senator for the School of the Arts
on the Student Senate Executive Board and was President of the
Fine Arts Council. In 1992, Krümm was given a special scholarship
from her university and continued her studies of Interior Design,
Furniture Design and Architectural Photography as a World Study
Scholar at the American College in London.
