

As the principal interior designer of Kira Krümm Interior Design, Kira Krümm has built an exceptional design firm with an extensive emphasis on innovation, integrity and client satisfaction. Yet always, it is Ms. Krümm’s unforgettable interior designs that form the foundation of her business, revealing her artistic background and international influences by beautifully balancing the elegant, ethereal and urban.
Ms. Krümm initially established her reputation for excellence in the early 1990s. As the owner of a prosperous interior design company in Virginia Beach, VA, Ms. Krümm primarily designed upscale residential and commercial projects, including several of the area’s most fashionable and successful restaurants, and earning an array of awards for her work. In 2000, she relocated to Naples, FL, and in a few years she established the highly respected firm of Kira Krümm Interior Design. She selected the Miromar Design Center, Southwest Florida’s premier resource for design professionals and consumers, as the location for her unique design studio.
Ms. Krümm’s lengthy list of accomplishments in Southwest Florida has secured her a spot among the country’s most important interior designers. As the recipient of multiple industry honors, her work has been celebrated in numerous nationally circulated periodicals, such as Luxury Homes, Florida Design and Florida International Magazine, as well as regional publications including Gulfshore Life, Home & Design, Naples Illustrated, Naples Design and Grandeur. Ms. Krümm’s design projects have been featured in multiple prestigious national hardbound publications, including Florida Design’s Florida Design 2006; Florida Interiors 2007 and Florida Interiors 2008; Spectacular Homes of Southwest America and, most recently, Best of Today’s Interior Design. Additionally, Ms. Krümm’s work has appeared on the popular national cable station HGTV’s program “Ultimate Bedrooms for Romance.”
In 2008, 2009, and 2010, Florida International Magazine recognized Ms. Krümm as one of their Top 100 Designers in its annual Home & Design issue. In 2010 Ms. Krumm was honored to be selected as one of the top six Interior Designers in this elite group. In 2009, she was also recognized in Gulfshore Business magazine as a “Top Business Leader” in its yearly “40 Under 40” issue. Ms. Krümm was recently selected to sit on the advisory board for one of Southwest Florida’s most elite annual home and design publications, Gulfshore Life At Home. She is featured in each Issue alongside a select team of industry professionals, providing essential design insight.
Ms. Krümm’s national notoriety is rivaled only by her growing global acclaim. Her work was featured in the book Modern Interior Design, American Collection, which was published in China in two languages in 2009. Ms. Krümm served as the contributing editor of the hardbound book, and was honored with the responsibility of selecting leading designers to showcase their unique and varied styles of modern American design. Her projects have also appeared in Home Idea Magazine, China’s preeminent international design magazine.
This expansion into the overseas market is personally appealing to Ms. Krümm, as it complements her lifelong love of travel and international design. Ms. Krümm has resided in London and Florence and traveled extensively throughout Asia, Europe, North and South America, and the Caribbean. These journeys enhanced her creative perspective as well as expanded her professional abilities, enabling her to plan and produce the extraordinary environments her clients call home.
Delighted to share her knowledge, Ms. Krümm has documented her international design experiences in several published feature stories. These articles guided her readers “behind-the-scenes” at such events as the historic High Point International Furniture Market in North Carolina, the largest furnishings industry trade show in the world, and Furniture China, Asia’s highly important annual furniture exhibition. Ms. Krümm continues to convey her industry insight through design seminars at the Miromar Design Center.
In addition to her increased international profile, Ms. Krümm has also introduced the Kira Krümm Kollection, her own line of luxury furnishings, fabrics and other décor. When Ms. Krümm was one of eight prominent designers chosen to participate in the 2008 and 2009 Designer Showcases at the Miromar Design Center, she was pleased to include products from collection. The 2008 “Shanghai Room” Master Suite and 2009 “Yin Room” Master Suite allowed Ms. Krümm to display her distinctive design aesthetic and appreciation for Eastern culture, as well as her fondness for creating what she calls “havens” – spaces where a homeowner can relax, restore and return to themselves.
Ms. Krümm’s devotion to design began as a young art student. She attended the Governor’s Magnet School for the Arts at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA, from 1984 to 1988. During that time, she received numerous notable awards, and also participated in a fine arts gifted program at the Rhode Island School of Design. Ms. Krümm later earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts with an interior design major from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. While studying art and design at VCU, she presided as the Senator for the School of the Arts on the Student Senate Executive Board and acted as President of the Fine Arts Council. In 1992, Ms. Krümm received a special scholarship from her university and continued her studies of interior design, furniture design and architectural photography as a World Study Scholar at the American College in London.
As an accomplished designer, Ms. Krümm continues her dedication to the arts. She is involved with many national and international arts and trade organizations, and affiliated with several regional fine arts organizations. Ms. Krümm is a member of the Marco Island City Arts Advisory Committee; the Marco Island Chamber of Commerce; the United Arts Council; the Collier Building Industry Association (CBIA); and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). She is the former Vice President and Visual Arts Chairman for the Marco Island Foundation for the Arts, and acted as the Chairman of the Selection Committee for Art Quest, the first public sculpture exhibition on Marco Island.
Ms. Krümm is also a member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID); the International Interior Design Association (IIDA); the International Furnishings and Design Association (IFDA). She is a Professional Member of the International Council of Interior Architects and Designers (ICIAD), and is an Associate Member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), and is proud to be certified by the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ), which recognizes individuals who have met industry standards for the practice of interior design.
Ms. Krümm has most recently become a GREEN Accredited Professional in Interior Design and is a member of the Sustainable Furnishings Council, an international organization that promotes and encourages sustainable practices in the home furnishings industry. Ms. Krümm is currently pursuing her LEED accreditation which will recognize her through the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) as a Leader in Energy and Environmental Design.
